Why is everybody "hating" the "Linux Hater Blog"?
This guy knows more about Linux then most of the people I know ;) So, he’s absolutely correct.
Especially his article about "How to write a KDE Application".
But I have to say, that I’m writing my KDE Applications in Python, so I’m really much faster shaking my hand to come to a climax including spending more time with my girlfriend.
I really love this guy…no, really I do :)

So the linuxhaters blog describes the problems of Linux? Does that actually _solve_ any of the problems? Does that help getting people to work on these issues in their spare time? Or won’t newcomers read this, don’t understand it, and turn away thinking “well he’s right, now that I see all of the problems listed at once, I realize Linux sucks”?
Also, do most Linux users _really_ believe there are no problems with the system they use? Sorry, but if you need the linuxhaters blog to realize this, I am in awe of your doublethink abilities :-) For me, the blog is rather a painful reminder of how utterly far away we are from delivering even a half-perfect operating system.
Btw. if you need a permanent reality reminder, just use this: http://xkcd.com/196/ It’s more concise, more funny, and still to the point.
PS: please to be fixink your captcha… Requiring cookies (but not saying so) is really irritating; and so is asking for “15 times 12″ and then complaining that the answer may only be 2 characters long…
I’d like to understand why you feel the need to post to Ubuntu with titles that including “WTF” and cursing in your posts.
Would you mind not posting those in Planet Ubuntu ? I don’t mind sarcasm, being cynic, free speech and so on out of Planet.. but I think some of your posts are out of line. I am sure other people will agree the allusions to masturbation and sex do not fit in Planet Ubuntu either.
I am not sure how to put this – but please think that some of us do refer family and friends that are new to Ubuntu to the Planet site, and when they see such posts, well, it’s not the proper setup to welcome them. As an Ubuntu member, you know that. To be clear, I am NOT asking you change anything about your posts, but when you decide to curse, and setup a post for that tone, it should not be on Planet Ubuntu.
but your friends who are not familiar with Ubuntu, Linux, or Computers in general don’t know anything about abbreviations of "WTF", "WTH", whatelse is there.
I don’t think, too, that you read the mentioned article I’m refering too..but that’s normal, so I don’t see any relation between my post and sex or masturbation?! Please point me to it? If you refer to "climax"…that I would like to point you again to the refered article…it has nothing to do with your "dirty" thoughts.
Please come back if you did read it. Please don’t push me into the corner of sex or whatever you have in your strange mind, when there is nothing written about that.
KThx.
why are you sending new converts to the planet to read about stuff that is likely way over their head? I work with the OS on a daily basis in a production environment and half the stuff on the planet goes over my head. I see no benefit to getting new users to read the planet. They would be more interested in the weblogs then the planet.
I also see no harm in abbreviated curse words…what’s the big deal? Every 12 year old with a cell knows more abbreviations than most of us ever will.
This sounds like a bitch for the sake of bitching.
How would you suggest one specific post skip Planet? Should he remove himself from Planet, post, wait 3 days (since it takes that long to get off the Planet page), then rejoin Planet? Be realistic.
But it’s a nice start, thanks! canadian
With everything that’s going on in the open source community, this is what you choose to write about? Thank you for making the decision to unsubscribe to this feed so much easier.
Bill, it’s wankers like you who turn people like me off of Linux. I suppose that this blog isn’t counted amoung those things “going on in the open source community” because this post is not warm, fuzzy, and full of head-up-the-arse optimism and we-shall-overcome rhetoric?
“Freedom” doesn’t include Free to be Critical, I suppose
Linux has big problems to overcome. And not all of those problems are in the software.
I appreciate the link. I’ve never seen this page, and I love Linux, but, let’s be reasonable: it’s challenging. That’s fun for some, but not all. This will be a good read with a cup of coffee.
(also, your math captcha asked me to solve ten minus __ = zero, but I could only put in one digit.
Yeah, that guy is really helping developers and whole community to improve Linux and OpenSource.
Agreed. :) That’s someone who knows, uses and probably loves Linux, that provides feedback and insight disguised very thinly as rants and hate. It’s real high quality insights and I’ve actually learnt a few things about how my system works from there!
It’s also really funny to read the comments, where about 20% gets it, 40% joins in what they think is true hate, and 40% hates the author of the blog.
It’s not always the highest quality rants, but there is a core of pure gold for developers who actually want to make the best system ever. :)
Um, you like yet another guy laming about how linux sucks and doing nothing about it? There are too many of them. The only diff with him is that he’s more vulgar and compares os x more as the epitome of design.
OS X is the epitome of OS design, and I’m saying this as a happy long-term linux user. I simply don’t understand why the majority of Linux community has problems admitting it. Enlightened linux users have already understood the fact, just have a look at what Mark Shuttleworth has to say about it.
had read his blog from the beginning to the latest entry, you can see, that this guy is not as innocent regarding Linux as he tries to be.
So many folks get so pissed at these anti linux posts. Feck all it’s a great thing to have. maybe some folks should these and say..hell yeah linux could be improved in this fashion.
As a side note your captcha might not work if the bots were written in COBOL :)
ADD 9 to ZERO GIVING ….:D
Richard,
I was just wondering why this guy got so much of "love" from the others…
Btw…I need you regarding Leonov :) I need more KDE love :)
Looking at his posts I get the feeling that he is really in the stuff and not only bashing around like others do. The link is quite good :-D It convinced me to akregate the blog.
